First off I want to say you’re probably my favorite yet! What inspired you to pick up a camera and were you always that confident with capturing different scenes?
Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed my photo series! I got my first DSLR for Christmas my freshman year of college from my parents and originally started out photographing critters in my garden and the woods around my house. I take my camera everywhere I go especially when I travel. When I joined a fashion troupe at the university I was asked to shoot for them and that’s how I got into portraiture and fashion based photography. Some of the models I began to work with didn’t have a lot of experience so we found it easier to give them a theme or an emotional idea to work around. I also found it  a little more emotionally easier to come up with a theme or a “plot” to base my shoots around while organizing and finding models and clothes and and other artists to work with. This is how I ended up developing photo stories as my photographic focus.

That’s amazing. Do you feel like you’ll do anything other that fashion photography or is that your preferred lane?
I live for fashion and portraiture photography! I do still enjoy my travel photos an taking pictures of bugs and things but I think fashion and portraiture will always be my passion!

Fashion is a very creative field. Do you get inspiration from the collection of the designer or do you already go in with an idea?
I usually begin a shoot with a set of themes or a general focus. But situations change once the shoot begins! It can start raining, hair and makeup could be different than what I initially imagined, the model can assume different personalities on different days, or I may just get inspired by some random thought that crosses my mind. So I stay flexible with how a shoot can proceed, especially when Im working with other artists, designers, and creative minds in general. I enjoy the spontaneity of a shoot because it keeps me on my toes and a creative momentum is engaged.

You seem very involved in your craft which is well respected because we live in an era in which ‘originality’ is dead. What would you say was your favorite shoot you’ve ever done?
I thoroughly enjoy every shoot especially the ones that I personally organize but I think that my favorite so far has been my most recent photo experiment “Shipwrecked” featuring model Deneuve Brutus. He is such an expressive model and has been my go-to muse for basically the past year. He is also an actor so I have a blast planning what essentially becomes a whole script and plot-line for him to model around and his photos are always an adventure to retouch.

Wow, really nice work. Your style is very unique. What would you tell to photographers that have just begun the process? (Advice wise)
I constantly have to tell myself to stick with it! It’s a long long  road to where I want to be and i don’t think I will ever reach my ideal of “perfection” because I an constantly growing and developing my skills. For example, I like to take old photos from my archives and retouch them how I would presently and then compare them to what I was doing in the past. It helps me grow as an artist and it is reassuring that I have come quite a long way in my abilities and accomplishments.

Taylor has a wonderful mind set for this business and an incredible work ethic. Amazing, amazing work once again. I thank her for her time and I definitely see good things in her future.
